Tim Minchin’s brilliant adaptation of Roald Dahl’s 1988 novel was first staged by the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2010 before moving to the West End a year later, and then Broadway in 2013. In 2012 it won 7 Olivier Awards, more than any other single show has ever achieved, as well as 5 Tony Awards in the USA in 2013. The hit film adaptation of the show was released last year – again to great critical acclaim.
