Healthy Eating Week

The British Nutrition Foundation hosts an annual Healthy Eating Week across the country, and UVHS, as always, has taken part in the festivities this week!

This year, the 5 themes are:

All form times this week have information and activities relating to these 5 themes including:

  • Learning about the importance of 5 a day and how to get this.
  • How to consider the pennies when shopping.
  • Identifying as many different fruits as possible.
  • Reading about the benefits of keeping hydrated, and completing a Kahoot! quiz on this
  • Looking at the difference between moderate and vigorous activity, and how this improves our physical and mental health, our social wellbeing and brain function.
  • Learning about different sports, ready for National School Sports Week 2024 on the 17th – 23rd June.
  • Playing higher or lower, when looking at the fibre content in food, and how important this is for us nutritionally.
  • Top tips on portion size and how to reduce food waste.
