Oxbridge Success
Following on from their best ever set of A Level results last summer, a whopping 89% of students securing their first-choice places at university and complete success with degree apprenticeship applications, this year’s Year 13 cohort at UVHS are already proving that they can perform at the same level with 6 students successfully completing the application, examination and interview process to achieve offers from Cambridge and Oxford.
Huge congratulations to:
Michael: Worcester College Oxford - Medicine
Anna: Worcester College Oxford - Music
Chris: Lincoln College Oxford - Mathematics

Assistant Headteacher, Rob Rastelli (Director of Sixth Form Studies) said, “We are immensely proud of all of our sixth form students and their achievements – both inside and outside the classroom. However, these six students have successfully ‘taken the baton’ from last year’s cohort, and those every year beforehand, by continuing UVHS’s strong tradition of students going to arguably the two most famous universities in the world … and most difficult to get offers from. The application process for both institutions is long, rigorous, demanding and extremely stressful, but for six Furness teenagers to be offered places is quite simply outstanding. We all wish them the very best of luck with their forthcoming A Levels.”
