Entry Requirements

Students should have achieved at least grade 6 in GCSE English Language or Literature and grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics.

Course Content

How do companies like Tesla, Nike and Apple become global successes? Why do consumers pay more for certain brands, even when the product is no different to their competitors? What does good leadership mean in business? A level business will give you an understanding of how businesses work and what makes them successful.

The course offers the chance to develop useful, high-level skills through looking at real life examples from around the world. As well as understanding how businesses work, you will also learn about external factors that influence business decisions such as markets, economic pressures and changing digital technologies.

The first year of the course focuses on the mechanics of what makes businesses tick including marketing, finance, operations and management. In the second year the course takes a broader view of business strategy.

Across both years we will examine lots of different businesses and real-world examples that show how theory works in practice.
